Our family had a lovely walk in the woods last night. It just so happens that, as we were marveling at all of the mushrooms, we stepped on a yellow jacket nest! Donny's yelling could be heard from miles around, "RUN!!! RUN!!! OUCH! Aaahhhhhh!!!!! He was the worst off: 25+ stings, mostly under his arms from carrying Elvia; Elvia suffered about 7 or 8 bites...one on the face; Meka 2 and me 2. Jolee made it unscathed!
What a night! Luckily, none of us are allergic.
Phew!
Oh poor Donny and Elvia. I think I heard them yelling all the way in California! Did I ever tell you about the time Tim and Jon decided to eradicate the yellow jacket nest in Glendale by blowing it up with M-80 firecrackers? Not such a great plan; it made a hell of a racket, ticked off the neighbors - and made those bees REALLY mad. They were nursing many, MANY bee stings for days. Boys!
